Dacoits strike yet again, kill woman, son

ADILABAD: Within few hours of the murder of three members of a family at Basara, dacoits struck Srisrinagar in Mancheryal town in the district late on Saturday night, killing a woman and her son and fleeing with Rs 50,000.

According to police, the dacoits entered the house of Durgamma, 55, on Saturday night and attacked her and her son Ravinder, 25, with boulders. They duo died on the spot.

When the woman and son, an autorickshaw driver, did not open their door in the morning, neighbours grew suspicious and broke open the main door to find them both lying in a pool of blood.

The neighbours also informed the police who registered a case and took up investigation. Sub-divisional police officer Ramana and circle inspector Ravinder Reddy visited the spot.
