Hyderabad: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday grilled former ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and P. Sabita Indra Reddy, and senior IAS officer M. Samuel.

Sabita was questioned at her residence in Srinagar Colony in connection with Penna Cement issue in Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s quid pro quo case.

A team of CBI sleuths, led by DIG H. Venkatesh, reportedly questioned Sabita regarding her role in the allocation of lime stone mines to Penna Cements when she was the mines minister in YSR Cabinet.

Prasada Rao and Samuel were quizzed for more than five hours in Lepakshi Knowledge Hub land allotment issue in Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s quid pro quo case.

Prasada Rao reportedly told the CBI officials that it was the decision taken by the then Cabinet when he was the revenue minister.

“I answered all their questions and will appear whenever they ask me,” said Prasada Rao.

Government has cancelled 8,848 acres of land allotment to Lepakshi in Anantapur after the scam broke out.

CBI has stepped up the pace in the probe in Jagan case as September 9 deadline is approaching.
