Hyderabad: Senior Telugu Desam leader and party’s politburo member K.E. Krishnamurthy on Sunday alleged that Union minister of state Daggubati Purandeswari was behind in the resignation of Nandamuri Harikrishna from the Rajya Sabha.

Speaking to the media in Kurnool on Sunday, Krishnamurthy said, “Harikrishna does not even know how to write a resignation letter. He never spoke on any single issue in the Rajya Sabha during the last five-and-a-half years.”

Alleging that Purandeswari was the mastermind behind the resignation, Krishnamurthy said, “She wants to encourage dissidence in the TD. Harikrishna’s resignation was accepted in a record time only due to her.”

Objecting to Harikrishna’s proposed tour against bifurcation of the state, Krishnamurthy said it will create confusion in the Telugu Desam when party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has already proposed a yatra in the region.

“There is a clear intention by Purandeswari and Harikrishna to promote Junior NTR in politics. These developments will certainly create confusion in the party,” he observed.
