Hyderabad: Timely action by the police stopped a communally motivated action from flaring up into a major confrontation at Moosanagar in Chaderghat on Sunday. Unknown miscreants threw some chicken waste at a place of worship in the area at around 9 am. As news spread, members of two communities gathered and an argument broke out.
A police team from Chaderghat reached the spot promptly, accompanied by cops from the East Zone. On the basis of a complaint, police booked a case under Section 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion). A police picket has been established in the area and patrolling has been stepped up.
